Grade 7 curriculum

Grade 7 math topics and practice

Another Angle currently focuses on Grade 7 mathematics. Students can practice the same underlying skills through Basketball or Baseball contexts, while section quizzes—where available—mix skills from the section in a separate check.

Skills students can practice now

Open a section to see every currently active topic and whether its contextual practice is available through Basketball, Baseball, or both. This list comes from the same current availability rules as the student practice experience.

  1. NumbersClassify, compare, and calculate with integers and rational numbers.

  2. Square Roots & RadicalsEvaluate, estimate, compare, simplify, and calculate with square roots.

  3. ShapesClassify shapes and reason about triangles, polygons, angles, and side lengths.

  4. PolynomialsClassify polynomials and perform addition, subtraction, and multiplication.

  5. ExponentsUse exponent rules, scientific notation, and growth or decay relationships.

  6. Ratios, rates, and proportionsFind unit rates, solve proportions, and identify proportional relationships.

  7. Coordinate planeRead, plot, and follow movement on coordinate grids.

  8. PercentsConnect percents, fractions, decimals, equations, and percent change.

  9. One-variable inequalitiesInterpret, solve, and graph inequalities with one variable.

  10. SlopeFind and interpret slope from graphs, points, equations, and tables.

  11. Perimeter and areaFind perimeter, area, circumference, and measurements of compound figures.

  12. Scale drawingsUse scale factors to reason about lengths, perimeter, and area.

  13. TransformationsIdentify and graph translations, reflections, rotations, and dilations.

  14. StatisticsAnalyze center, spread, samples, populations, estimates, and predictions.

  15. ProbabilityWork with sample spaces, simple and compound events, simulations, and predictions.

Presentation

Same mathematics, different context

Choosing Basketball or Baseball changes the situation, wording, and visual context around a problem. It does not change the underlying Grade 7 skill, the mathematical values that define the problem, the correct answer, or how the answer is graded.

Mixed review

Section quizzes

Where a section quiz is available, it mixes skills from that section so students must decide which mathematics to use. Some current quizzes use neutral wording, while others keep the selected interest context.
